PostRoost Bookmark Exporter

X's API caps what any app can read (~99 bookmarks per folder, and folder-filed bookmarks vanish from the main list). This companion Chrome extension captures 100% of your bookmarks — every folder included — into a JSON file you import into PostRoost.

Download the extension (.zip)

Free to download. Importing the full export into PostRoost is a Pro feature.

1. Download & unzip

Grab the extension below and unzip it anywhere (e.g. a postroost-extension folder you keep around).

2. Load it into Chrome

Open chrome://extensions, toggle Developer mode (top-right), click Load unpacked, and select the unzipped folder. Works in Chrome, Edge, Brave, and other Chromium browsers.

3. Visit your bookmarks — it does the rest

Go to x.com/i/bookmarks. A small PostRoost Export panel appears and the capture starts automatically: it scrolls your whole bookmarks list, then tours every folder one by one so nothing is missed. When it says Done, click Download JSON.

4. Import into PostRoost

In PostRoost, open Settings → Import bookmarksand choose the file. We add anything you don't already have and file it into the matching folders — your existing bookmarks, notes, and organization are never changed.

Private by design

The extension makes no network requests of its own and sends data nowhere. It only listens to X's own responses as you browse your bookmarks, and everything stays in your browser until you click Download. Uninstalling removes all of it.
